When thinking about your Hen party guest list, it is traditional to invite the mother of the bride and sisters along with your bridesmaids and other important ladies in your life. It is now becoming more common to also invite your best male friends - as long as your husband-to-be isn’t there!

Stag do’s tend to have a “more the merrier” approach which is more relaxed.

Hen ideas

Typically the hen party is organised by the Maid of Honor or Chief Bridesmaid.

When thinking about what to do for your hen party it is sometimes difficult to please everyone. Some of your friends will be looking forward to a wild night out, whereas others prefer the idea of a relaxing spa weekend and quality time with friends.

One of the main obstacles to overcome when planning your hen is that your family may not want to engage in some of the typical hen activities, therefore it is very popular to have a second hen party with families that is a little more low-key.

So what can you do for your hen party? We do love the idea of booking you and your girlfriends in for a luxurious spa day and pamper session prior to the big day. Spa packages can be inclusive of food, champagne and treatments, whilst being able to enjoy the facilities and onsite accommodation is usually available.

Other options include renting a big country house for the weekend and plan daily activities for you and your hens - for example, cocktail making, afternoon tea, arts and crafts activities and theme nights.

Stag ideas

Stag parties are also commonly a weekend full of celebrations. We love the idea of going to the races and enjoying the luxury of a hospitality box as part of a fun-filled weekend.

It is becoming more and more popular to go for a weekend away with your stags, many companies do trips to Budapest or Prague, which are some of the most popular destinations. These weekends can be packed with activities and will really make it a celebration to remember whilst getting a holiday in the process!

The main thing is to make sure that you enjoy yourself, so it is important to talk about your expectations with your Maid of Honor or Best Man prior to them starting planning.
